How often do you clean your bathroom and toilet. Ok I don't really want to know, but in the hotel we are doing them all the time, and I noticed that they don't take long, because they are clean anyway.
Here is how we do ours.
For the sink, shower and bath I use soap and a buff puff scrunchie thing. A quick swipe on the soap, with a little water, then wipe around each appliance, and scrunch around the taps. Takes about 30 seconds for each. (bath, shower or basin, not tap!) then with a clean dishcloth, slightly damp, wipe off. With one of the hand towels going into the wash just polish off. This takes about 2 minutes max.
For the toilet squirt some toilet and bathroom cleaner (what ever you use and it could be vinegar here) onto the same basin cloth, clean the seat and lid and wipe all the porcelain, including the outside if you have boys who don't aim well! With the brush give it a quick swish round, and finally have a couple of squirts in the bowl of your cleaner, for good measure.
I do all our toilets and bathrooms every day, but not all at the same time.
I get up early in the morning, so always go downstairs first, so that one is always done after going to the loo.
When I go to get dressed an hour later the next one is done.
All these things are easy to do, and don't take long, but you need to get into a routine and do it regularly, then you don't even notice doing it, you only notice if you haven't.
I use white vinegar to get off limescale, and a buff puff body wash to get gritty bits off.
With discolouring it is usually down to coloured products used (we have a big problem with henna being used by visitors here). A couple of times a year we use th ebuff puff and a mixture of bathroom cleaner and bleach sprayed on them and a jolly good scrub.
