We are fortunate in having quite a few around us and depending on which town you are in, depends on the quality of good inside.
Marlborough, posh place has a few charity shops but you can always pick up a label here. I should go more often, then sell them on Ebay!
Devizes, my most favourite town, if I am never able to move closer to the sea when we retire, this is where I would move to. Has at least 6 charity shops, I am always browsing and have picked up some super books. I don't often look for clothes as they rarely have my size but I am currently looking for some full length, heavy weight curtains.
Calne, my town has three charity shops, full of rubbish!
Chippenham, has I think 5 possibly 6, bearing in mind this is the fastest growing town in the south west I would have expected more!
Does anyone else browse charity shops? _________________ "If we reduce the amount of stuff we allow to accumulate in our lives, we won't have to organise it"

I usually do if in Ilfracombe. The are ok. We also have a charity bookshop which is much more tempting. They donate all profits to Ilfracombe groups, like scouts brownies etc.
We have about 8 on our local high street (1 mile away) and I always have a browse when we go there. I've got lots of bargains - bought j a pair of trousers for 75p last week. also get loads of books for him. There are a couple of places that sell furniture, in one of which i bought my favourite piece - a solid oak cabinet, not sure of it's age, but a bargain.
i rarely buy new things these days! _________________ Aqui, T and Baby Jack!
Oh yes There are four in our local town and more than that in the two other towns we visit. Almost all my clothes come from charity shops, along with books, toys for the grandbabies etc. etc.
I very rarely find wool there though, which is a disappointment!! _________________ When I married Mr. Right, I didn't realise his first name was Always ...
I only use my local charity shops now, Oxfam and the rest are WAY too expensive. £5 for a bobbly t-shirt, £30 for a pair of worn down shoes and no rummaging bits, I don't know what their idea is behind this strategy but it's certainly driven me away.
Sorry, soapbox subject for me!
i use charity shops at times and i think as a charity we should also consider opening one to help us earn some much needed cash for the trust
i am having trouble convincing the trustees though....
there are 4 i think in llandovery and llandeilo has several
i think you have to pick your location carefully and without the bible for charity shops (costs £75 itself!) it is a bit of a mine field setting one up
Nanny, my grandmother used to often go to one in Ammanford...Is it not still there?
I frequent a few every week with some of my clients, and am always amazed at the quality of the clothing they offer for so little. Good designer labels, very good condition clothing, and typically about £2.00 a shirt or £5 for excellent trousers and jackets. Books and cd's or video's about 50p each. It makes excellent financial sense. _________________ A woman needs to feel loved to have sex,

I really must look round more in these shops. K gets some good bargains and always heads for the handbag section I noticed quite a few had large pieces of material so will keep my eyes open for anything else!!
