These are so cheap, I can't imagine it would be cost effective to make your own.

A bottle of white vinegar gets rid of watermarks on a shower screen and costs pence.

I make cream cleaner, following a recipe from (I think) Crazy Kate on the CL forum:

3 parts bicarb
1 part water
1 part washing up liquid
1 tablepoon vinegar
A few drops of essential oil (currently tea tree in mine)

Mix the whole lot together (it froths up when mixed) put it in an old washing up liquid bottle and and shake well before use. It gets the taps ever so shiny.

We just use water and vinegar to clean windows and mirrors (this doesn't happen very often Wink )

Apart from that, we have bought washing powder, washing up liquid and loo cleaner, although if I'm feeling rich enough, we use Ecover.

I use products from this company
http://www.biodegradable.biz/
but will go back to making some of my own once we move. I used to use Ecover till I found out that it isn't as "ethical" as I thought! Rolling Eyes

Sadly as with most things when you start to look into it things are never as black and white as they seem.

I thought they were a really good company, just tend no to use them much because of the cost. Why aren't they ethical then?

Very high mileage for their raw materials. They also try to claim much lower miles by delievering to local (ie intheir local not yours) wholesalers and only counting that mileage. The products are then moved again including fork movements, etc to your local shop.
