I went to visit my Mother last night. She said " I've been learning to crochet and have done these squares. I don't like them very much but stitched them together and thought you could make a bag for yourself.............for your birthday this month....................I did knit a handle to go with them but I don't like that either."
I lined the squares and made a bag today, whilst wishing myself a happy birthday from Mother.
It is a bit quirky, certainly different!

Learning? Learning to crochet??
I think that bag is absolutely sensational. Now I see where some of your creative talents come from Kathy!
Does your mother have time on her hands? Would she like several commissions? |

She has been trying to learn for about 2 yrs now CP. She's a perfectionist and at her age has found it difficult to get her fingers sorted out as she's a long time knitter. She found her fingers aching as she was using them in a different way.
She joined a pensioners craft club and has been making some pretty nice stuff, cards, jewellery etc, she didn't realise she had this creativeness till she joined the club.
I'll pass your comments on when she gets back from Margate (visiting her sister), she'll be pleased. |

I've been inspired...
(maybe not the colours, but I love the idea!)
Off to find out how to crochet granny squares... _________________ Aqui, T and Baby Jack!

I shall be doing some more crochet once the darker evenings arrive. Good link Kathy, thanks. At present, I am feeling uncrafty but I have some patchwork blocks long overdue for a swop, so must gird my loins. _________________ http://codlinsandcream.blogspot.com/ |

I`ve just started to crochet again, and Sophie wants me to make her a hat, which gave me an idea,
our local community centre has a monthly market where you can hire a stall, so I`m going to be trying to make quite a few hats ! _________________ Lyn |
