I thought of this whilst lying in the MRI thing. Kathy mentioned that she gets annoyed when a milky coffee is called a latte as they are the same thing. I beg to differ I think they are very different.

Milky coffe is just that, heated milk with coffee

whereas a Latte............................

Pour enough milk for one cup into the steam pitcher. Put the steam wand at the bottom of the pitcher. Turn on the steam, and slowly raise the wand until it is near the top of the milk. Lower the pitcher as the milk rises so the steam wand stays 1 cm away from the top of the milk. The milk should not stretch too much nor should there be any big bubbles. Create a smooth, velvety milk as opposed the foam that sits atop most espresso drinks.
Allow the milk to reach 80 ºF (27 ºC), then place the steam wand on the side of the pitcher, deep into the milk, positioning the pitcher to spin counterclockwise. Keep doing this motion until the milk heats to 150 ºF to 160 ºF (65 ºC - 70 ºC). Shut the steam and remove the steam wand and thermometer from the milk.
Vigorously swirl the milk. If you see any bubbles, pound the pitcher on the counter several times and go back to swirling the milk for 20 to 30 seconds. Do this even while the espresso is pouring.
Start pouring the milk into the espresso. Pour the milk into the bottom part of the cup, about an inch (2 cm - 3 cm) away from the bottom. Once the cup is about half filled, shake the pitcher back and forth while slowly moving it backwards.
Once the foam reaches the top, pour the milk up the center.

See totally different and I must admit the milk is velvety if its done properly and it shouldn't mix right in with the expresso it should float through it  Laughing  Laughing  Laughing

What do you think, do you have a favourite, one made in a certain way etc etc?

K has been suffering with the most awful headaches at Uni and whilst she was home this last week we pinpointed it to 'coffee'. So she tried some decaf I keep in for a friend and she was fine Very Happy so has taken that back to Uni with her.

I must remember to buy some more Rolling Eyes

rarely drink coffee unless we are out somewhere when i like it to be .....just a nice cup of black coffee but it mustn't be instant, if i go out i expect proper coffee

it smells so nice and at times is just the thing you need

i don't like tea when i am out....normally it is that awful tetley catering stuff and i like my clipper tea bags....don't like herbal teas either...always smells like the cat's been in....i want a real cup of tea please....

god i sound like some old boring old woman making unreasonable demands when taken out for the day by her long suffering grand children

I'm not one for herbal teas but do enjoy the odd cup of Raspberry leaf. Very Happy

I drank Raspberry leaf tea whilst pregnant with first baby, supposed to aid childbirth.  I didn't bother with it the second time around......

Not a great coffee connessiour (sp) myself and definitely can't cope with espresso!  Prefer a cup of tea and a biccie!

Redbush tea, I've got a cup beside me right now.
Like Nanny,on the rare occasion that I'm having coffee it has to be strong, black and excellent quality, none of the burnt stuff that masquerades as coffee. Black tea of any sort I dislike, used to love it but don't know what happened.  Laughing

I'm much the same Kathy - I used to keep the Earl Grey tea industry propped up single handedly but now I drink mostly fruit tea with the occasional cup of Earl Grey or Lady Grey.

Coffee really doesn't like me  Sad
