(I'm the resolution queen today!)
i resolve to do the following this year to reduce my carbon footprint....
do all washing (except nappies) at 30C
get loft and wall cavity insulation
listen to my clock work radio instead of the mains powered one
remember to turn off the computer when not using it
and continue not ironing for environmental reasons!
If you do all your washing at 30 C the washing powder etc all accumilates in the pipes etc. it needs a good amount of heat to be washed through otherwise hefty repair bills ensue.
I'm thinking of getting a new car, which does around 65 miles per gallon and has less emissions than my current car - so that must be good right ? I drive 60 miles a day, which I can't reduce unless I can find another job that pays similar in my local area (haven't looked in fairness).
We are making a concerted effort to not take plastic bags from supermarkets ... but it is quite hard to always remember to pick up the rucksack before we leave the house
I already recycle around 80% of household waste and have 4 different bins in the kitchen. I buy 90% of my shopping at the local organic shop, could walk there if I had a big enough back pack to carry the shopping as its only just over a mile.
So I need to change one of the cars (we've 2 between 6 of us) and get it changed for a smaller better MPG one.
Get Greenman's stove put in so the downstairs heating won't need to be switched on at all (we've separate boilers for up and down).
Remember not to run the tap when brushing teeth and encourage everyone else to do the same.

I use this little bag thats got a larger one squashed inside it,and carry it in my handbag,or you could clip it to your belt,it'a called an Onya bag came from Austrailia WHY called an onya bag? because it's always ONYA think you can buy something like it here
