Remember we had the fire before my birthday back in February, we called the insurance who called in proffessional cleaners, to do a quote, then the insurance assessor came to take a look at the chimney and said to me he would recommend the work be done to the value of £240!

Well  today the insurance company rejected the claim in its entirity  apparently they say its down to poor maintanence! Well the firebrigade came and said it was a well maintained chimney, I have it swept every year if not twice on some occasions.

We have lived here for over 20 years and never, made a claim
*%$*J&%$

I am fuming, cos if I had been here we could very well have had all the work done and then had a huge bill at the end!

I'd make a complaint and try again Libby - insurance companies always try and reject a claim the first time in my experience.

Threaten to take your business elsewhere/write to the ombudsman/kick up as much of a fuss as you can.  Make 'em sorry!!!

We intend too.

The really really annoying thing is this is Nationwides Staff Union Insurance and we are still waiting for 'Nationwides Insurance' to pay up for T's car and that accident happened at the end of October last year!!!!

Evil or Very Mad
