This really isnt a rant as such... yesterday our landlords grandson Cameron popped over to ask if we would be in today of cause I'm in all the time if Richie aint here  Laughing

The local South Wales Fire Service have a thing going at the moment apparently he advised us and they would call with our permission today at 2...  well they arrived at 12  Rolling Eyes there back again now as I type lol!

(Id love to take a photo but I'll look abit of a twat as the fire engines outside my front door lol!)

Anyway two very nice gentlemen knocked the door and came in (all in uniform I think you ladies get my drift... you know dead professional looking not attractive at all... Embarassed  Laughing )

They looked around the place (and promised not to grass Eric & the Noodle Bros up lol!) they had a big question list thankfully didnt have to go through it as they could see me and rich are saftey concious when it comes to electrics, they fitted FREE yes FREE 10 year lazer smoke alarms wich have apparently "Toast Proof" sensors in as well (handy when Richies cooking lol!) and gave me a FREE 6 way extension lead in case we found a use for it!

They asked me a real bad question "do you have a chip pan" I think my face answered that lol! apparently if I had have had one I would have been given a fryer machine circuit breaker as well  Confused .

How good is that! when I lived back in Coventry there was nothing like this apparently its a standard thing now here in South Wales like free prescriptions.

Very pleased that our local Council is making funding avail for things like this it's literally every home in South Wales being targeted for this scheme imagine how many lives are literally going to be saved and accidents thanks to this idea plus the fire service being able to gain access to every property, asses it and alert those that have a risk factor in there homes and personally advise face to face on fire safety and prevention .

I never thought I would have a Major good word to say about any city council but I can quite honistly say I'm VERY impressed with Swansea City Council and the Emergancy Services here  Very Happy

Sod free wheelie bins only like back in coventry I think every district should get what we had today   thumright

Ah yes so different to the 80's when we in England were told
"come home to a real fire, buy a home in south Wales..." Laughing

after our chimney fire in February, the fire brigade arranged for a house check, even though I had applied for one years ago, and the nice old guy with a step ladder came and fitted 3 of those, they are brilliant and don't go off at the drop of a hat!!!
