This weekend I've been reading the Henry Root letters.
Very funny, the man is  truly eccentric!!

i am now deeply engrossed in a book called "the maggot" by john fowles, the man who also wrote the french lieutenant's woman and a few others....had the book for years but i must have been too young to read it the first time as i can't remember a thing

once you get into the 18th century dialogue frame of mind, it is a good read

I'm still reading my battered old copy of Cranford.  Lovely it is too.  Downstairs reading is Dickens (A Christmas Carol).

I like murder/thriller who done it books,just finished one called The rosary girls by Richard Montanari, Loved it

I can't decide what to read. For the past 3 nights i've picked a different book, read a few pages and then added it to the pile on the bedside table. i wonder what i'll pick tonght!

I've just read Ben Watt's 'Patient'.  It is written in a really nice / interesting way.  It'll sound boring now, but it is an account of his very unsual illness and subsequent stay in hospital for 2.5 months.  Most of the pages had me weeping !  If you have had any sort of hospital stay or surgery, you will really connect.
