teenage clothes including overalls, several hundred pairs of jeans and have lost count of the tshirts, piles of work clothes, bloke type clothes complete with endless socks , smelly wet doggy dry off towels, bathroom towels, bed linen (ok i confess to changing them all more than necessary, just my thing ), sofa throws used by the hounds......it just goes on and on and on
i remember when i had a twin tub. then, if it wasn't filthy dirty, then it ain't gonna get washed! autos make us frivolous and lazy.
will dispatch myself to the river next weekend to remind myself.
They all wash their own, I do mine, Mr Kathys and Es. Same with any ironing, I stopped doing the offsprings as soon as they were old enough to safely wield an iron!
obviously our two sprogs can't do the laundry themselves, but just wait until they're a little bit bigger J already helps me to fold the clean washing up and often S helps me to carry the dirty washing out to the laundry and shove it into the machine. OH does help me a lot too and will often do the laundry without me asking. and I have no idea why we have so much laundry, but following a visit from the allotment or a walk at this time of year it mounts up because it's impossible to do either of those without coming home caked in mud. I very rarely iron.
What amazes me (still) is how the laundry basket is always full - no matter how much washing I do. (I do the laundry - he washes up - it seems fair - I hate washing up!) I tend to end up doing 3 or 4 loads a week, less in the summer - and it's only the two of us. Once little one arrives (and poos and pukes on everything) I think I will be washing daily.
Trouble with doing it all in one day - how do you dry it? I try to space mine out throughout the week. (blast, damn, forgot to put the machine on AGAIN today. oh well - it'll be ok tomorrow!)
