The Potting Shed

Okay, this is the finally finished product, a pig slaughtering bench made approx in the early 1800's. My parents had it highly waxed indoors in their cottage, as a bench, and I've had it in the shed for a year , and before that, for a year in the garden. However, with our new hearth, we needed a new mantle, so I cut it in half longditudinally, sanded it, CP waxed it with beeswax, and I mounted it using 12mm threaded bar countersunk into the wall, fixed with chemical anchor, and the bench pressed onto it. Looks ok???

Thanks, a lot of work but worth it. The wall below has now ben sanded and repainted too. Wink

hmm, i must say, that photo doesn't do it justice at all, i will try and take a better one later...
