My baby is going to university Confused
Our youngest is going off to uni in just over a weeks time - he's is so excited that he is bouncing around the house (in a non-demonstrative 18 year-old way Very Happy ) It will be really strange for the last of the 4 to go Confused

hugs Kaz Smile I don't know what it's like (yet) but I remember my youngest one heading off for school full of confidence and excitement. I was happy that she had the confidence to go into the classroom without a second glance for me but it was sad at the same time that my "baby" wasn't at home with me during the daytime anymore. I'll sure there'll be many positive things to come of it and he'll do you proud. Smile

My youngest goes to school in January. I'm dreading it. Time to get a horse methinks.

I wrote this for a writers circle when our theme was "brave new world", I remember that sad feeling well. Chin up Kaz, they do come back. Smile

Brave New World

You stand at the gate and hide your tears
Your child is waving goodbye
With the little white blouse and shiny black shoes
You try to not to think of your fears.

She’s looking back with tears in her eyes
You hope she’ll find a friend
You pull out your hanky and blow your nose
As you wave your final goodbye

You remember the baby you held in your arms
And that little dimpled smile
You can’t be there every minute of the day
And hope she comes to no harm

You stand at the gate with a smile on your face
And watch your child return
She’s waving and laughing, holding hands with her friend
She shouts, “Hey Mum, this is Ace!”
