I really like using Dobies (www.dobies.co.uk). They seem cheaper than any of the other main seed companies, it's pretty fast delivery and are lovely over the phone. They were very patient and helpful when I had problems with my debit card. Worth checking out.

I try and use the Organic Gardening Catalogue (www.organiccatalogue.com) but also use Dobies (not to be mistaken with Dobbies the Garden Centre) and Thompson & Morgan in third place.

this year i tried Terwins seeds and found them very helpful when i rang them.....the seeds reached me very quickly and the owner gave me some advice on the melon seeds that i wanted to buy

if it ever warms up enough to think about planting them that is..........

i also use thompson and morgan but this year i have also tried seeds of italy and they also seemed quite helpful even if the catalogue was partially in italian................

Have you tried Alan Romans yet? All seeds are 50p per packet, some are even organic for that price, and an order of £5 and above is post free.
http://www.alanromans.com/default.asp?cookiecheck=yes&
They can do the seeds at this price because they have no fancy packages....but anyone with a good veg book, or lots of existing seed packets with instructions on will not need all the info. It is on their website anyway if needed.

I everyone. I realise I'm late, joining a thread that has been going for some time. Never mind.
I would endorse The Organic Seed Catalogue, mentioned above. I also like The Real Seed Company for its ethical/green/organic credentials, and for searching out many unusual varieties from around the world. For fruit, and particularly apples, pears, plums, etc, I'd recommend Keepers. Not just for a very comprehensive list, but because in my experience and that of a number of other people I know, the quality of trees and the service are both excellent.

Sorry - I meant to include Simpsons Seeds as well. They have a pretty good list of tomatoes - the company started off as The Tomato Club - and a huge list of sweet peppers and chillies, as well as other veg and flowers.
