I have a really irritating split on the corner of my mouth which wont heal up because everytime I smile or open my mouth it splits open again.

Lloyd's solution is to simply keep my mouth closed  Laughing  Does anyone have any helpful ideas of what I can use to help it heal please cos its very sore. Sad

How about blisteze?  That is what I use on sore lips.  Otherwise I would use sudacreme, nappy cream, over night.  Not too attractive, but I always use it on the children when they have colds, and it really speeds up the healing from chapped noses and lips.

No it isnt a cold sore jojo, just a small split in the skin on the outer corner of my mouth and not sure if i'm brave enough to put tcp on it, its very sore!

sudocreme is a good idea alison, we have some here and i hadn't thought of it. will try it tonight and if not get some blisteze tomorrow after work  Smile

I seem to remember reading somewhere that they can be caused by lack of vit B and I have been stressed lately with everything thats been going on so maybe i should look into that.

I wonder if Kathy may have some ideas........

It is usually a vit b deficiency CP. Greenlady doesn't recommend putting anything petroleum based on it, beeswax works well if you can get it or a "natural" lip balm and, add more B vitamin foods to your diet.  Smile

I got what I thought was a cold sore near the corner of my mouth. After putting cold sore cream on it, it stopped it from blistering, but I still have the mark, and from time to time it splits and bleeds. I really don't know what the answer is.
