It is a grotty day today, so I thought we could spruce up the entrance of our houses. I mean the front door, and hallway / porch areas.
Clear out anything that shouldn't be there. Get rid of coats etc that no longer fit. Sort out for washing any that need washing, and get them done. Put shoes away, neat and tidily.
Start by sweeping / hoovering the floor, so you aren't flicking dust everywhere.
Bash the mat.
With hot soapy water, wipe down the front door and if you have it, polish the door furnature.
Should take less that an hour and it will be very welcoming then when you get in.
Like all these things it is so much easier to keep it tidy, once it is tidy, rather than battling to get it clean once it is a mess. |

Good idea Alison - it's amazing what a difference it's made - we get used to seeing the same junk there every day _________________ www.overthegate.co.uk |
