From our garden, you can nearly always here the rooks (I think) arguing away over on the trees a little way away, a bit of traffic noise, not bad considering it's a ring road, said trees are helpful in that respect when they have their leaves!
Unfortunately we have no inspiring views from the garden, it's all fenced off, though you can see various trees dotted around the place. The better views are from our bedroom window, where you can see out to the fields on the other side of the ring road
The view *in* the garden is going to improve at the end of this week, finally: we're getting a skip, a friend or two to help, and throwing away the junk! Yay! _________________ *All* tiles now up in the bathroom! A bit of grouting to go and it'll be a finished room
I can hear the starlings in the trees and the traffic and see surrounding houses. There are a lot of ancient trees left from when this was forest, so i can mostly ignore the houses. _________________ Aqui, T and Baby Jack!
From our garden we can see a heugh (small hill) in to the west and the sea (quite distant, but definitely there) to the east. Northwards is probably the scruffiest farm building in Northumberland and south is a field full of sheep. We can hear mostly sheep and birds and, if the wind's from the east, the traffic on the A1, which is between the sea and us. If the wind's in the west, we can't hear the road at all but we can hear the farm dogs barking (and they nearly always are!).
From the garden, I can see the rambling roses I have planted - Paul's Himalayan Musk is just starting to open a few of the million buds it is carrying. This has colonised all the front aspect of the garden so we are hidden from the farmyard over the wall now. To the left I can see the paddock, and the pine trees by the farm water holding tank. To the right I can see the top of the old cart stable, tops of the hills the other side of the river, and the back of the woodshed. Behind me is the house. Up one floor and I can see farm buildings, more of the trees/hills etc. I can always hear birdsong, all day long, at this time of year. Early in the morning it will be pigeons cooing, right now it's a blackbird singing, in the heat of the day there are bees buzzing amongst my plants, and the occasional flip and splash of one of the yellow goldfish, who specialise in this. As it gets dimpsy, Blackcaps start to sing and I pretend they are Nightingales.
We can often hear the dogs barking at the puppy farm over the valley, or the farm dogs barking at the cattle over the wall, or the farm dogs up at Dai's on top o'bank. Fahly will whinney every time he hears my voice. We have a lot of cow mooing going on - "next door" has a milking herd of about 250. Every time we hear a vehicle on the lane we look out to see who it is (we don't get many pleasures round here!) We also have low flying jets which scream over regularly, and "Hercy Birds" doing low level flying pracising drops up the Towy Valley. It's very rarely silent here . . . _________________ http://codlinsandcream.blogspot.com/
we can hear the river and the birds and there seem to be a whole load of bees in the ash tree at the side of the house....i can hear the turkeys making their noises and the chickens making their busy noises...we have had planes going over as well today but i can ignore those
i can hear the horses talking to each other and every once in a great while, i can har a car go by down on the a4069 but not very often in the evenings............
At about 4.55am. i can hear about 8 crows all squabbling, 3 magpies doing the same, then 2 pairs of woodies chanting up to each other. By 5 30.am. my 30 odd canaries start singing at the top of their voice. So i get up and put on classic FM.
