Not A great or pleasant subject at all...
I've missed sevral now through one thing or another... as you do...
I don't know what it's like in other parts of the country for the "Smear Campaign" (no pun intended ) but in Wales since I moved here they really take the matter seriously in fact VERY.
I recived a letter (one of many normal photo copy printouts) last week about I needed an urgent test done, today I actually got a proper letter from the Doctor! requesting I book an appointment
I'm well impressed with the service on the NHS down here even though I don't go to the doctors unless Im dragged (literally!)
I guess I will have to go for this test again abit worried tbh as A.) I don't do doctors and B.) The last 2 times I did I had to have coloposcopy's done. (9 years ago)
I suppose I will have to bite the bullet and book an appointment I guess I'll be ok if Richies with me but TBH not sure I want more of my bits taken away if a bad result again, after the 2 procedures last time is there gonna be much more left to take! (I watched it all on the monitor... and was shown the "samples")
Does make me wounder can us older women get hold of the drugs young girls are getting? the anti cervical cancer one ?

Jeni As you have had problems before you really MUST make that appointment & get it done. Better be safe than sorry. I hated having it done but I always did. Be a big brave girl please .
I will do it will phone the surgery when it's open for an appointment for a week or so's time.
When Rich is off and I can get in Out of Hours so to speak
Don't need anymore carp at the mo but I guess when you hit rock bottom it piles on LOL!
I'm really VERY impressed though with "NHS Cymru"
In the West Midlands they really did not have a "Customer Service" focused attitude at all!
I really cannot praise them enough excellent an service! when Rich orders his "Meds" it's next day despatched to the pharmacy within 12 hrs, the other week he ran out of an inhaler and within 10mins he had a prescription and his inhaler!
Anyway will let you know how I get on apparently here in Wales I will get the results back within 4 weeks (used to be 8 in coventry!)

Jeni, you must bite the bullet and go. Nine times out of ten these tests are fine and then you will have peace of mind again.
A few weeks ago I found a breast lump, just a few days before my beloved uncle died of cancer. I ended up having all sorts of tests, tissue biopsies etc and at the time we both thought someone up there had a very strange sense of humour. Anyhow, all came back negative and if I had ignored it at the time (was very tempting) I would still be having the worry.
The scariest bit is the not knowing and the imagination going into overdrive. So, you go girl and get yourself checked out!!!!!
Definitely do get it done. I had mine done in the summer for the first time since going through childbirth and the test was nothing in comparison!
The immunisation they are giving to young girls is actually against an STD which can cause cervical cancer. It's not an immunisation for the cancer itself. _________________ Aqui, T and Baby Jack!
Thanks for the reminder Jeni - I'm overdue for a test too. I'll go if you will _________________ When I married Mr. Right, I didn't realise his first name was Always ...

OKAY but... you gotta hold me hand lol!
Naaa jokes apart the last one I had really hurt TBH the "Ethnic" person that did it warmed the equipment up first... under a hot water tap!
So I sorta jumped and did'nt have a good temper on me at the time
Libby I got a quote once for me bits done it costs £1,500 + for the Op else I would have done it found out would have been the same surgeon as the norm NHS but I'd have literally jumped the "queue" moneys tight now not an option I guess but an option one day maybe
Mmmm as said above not a great subject BUT well chuffed us ladies can talk about it and probably help on lookers to the Forum with future possible issues
