It's a gorgeous day here too - we've finally got some sunshine to go with the heat. However, this news has rather put a dampener on the day for me - it makes me feel utterly furious... _________________ When I married Mr. Right, I didn't realise his first name was Always ...

very hot up here last night, we had the window open but there wasn't a breath of breeze, nor is there now...we had some rain this afternoon for a couple of hours and the temperature has dropped a bit...it was really uncomfortable this morning first thing...hot at 8.30 in the morning...
well the vet came just before lunch...we have 9 with conjunctivitis, the mare isn't in foal and the other horse has had a stay of exection until the autumn though we are all of the agreement that he won't make it through next winter poor old thing...he is happy enough, he is eating (at one point he was on 4 meals a day) and he is himself at the moment but it is a matter of time really...just sking and bones despite eating all the time,. his teeth have been checked, he has been wormed, all the things we can afford to do but he is just old i guess...
another day that i have spent at my 'pooter in the main....the trust is now on facebook, we have discussed the sponsored walk and more or less have decided on a route and things are pressing on...the total for the silver lining appeal is starting to come in, it is over the target now and still climbing slowly..
the money is to be used to renovate the dutch barn area...this was decided a little while ago and will be a permanent memorial to alex that the ponies will all benefit from....
alex hopes to get over here in august, we will be pleased to see her i have to say
anyway
i am suffering a bit from an RGC, that's a Running Greyhound Collision...took the dogs for the first run they have had for a couple of days, it has really been too hot to take them running anywhere, all they have wanted to do is lie around and get a dog tan and who was i to stop them...so this aftrernoon up the field we went (minus goats as it was spitting with rain) and they took off through the field which still hasn't been cut....i think they must have done a whole circuit and came haring towards me....now i am not a small person by any means and certainly tall enough to see but merlin headed straight towards me and striaght into my right thigh....never even tried to divert round me...god that hurt....i am going to have a greyhound sized bruise
