I just used plain string Aqui, smear some of the candle wax on them, the end you light that is, it works fine.
My sister warned me that glass might shatter if you burn the candle in the glass so I've take them out to burn them.  Smile

I just get cotton string by the meter at the sewing shop and as Kathy says smear some of the candle wax on it think it works out about 30p a meter and it works just fine:D

so long as the wick isnt massively oversized there is no problem with candles in glasses, it burns slowly and warms up the  glass as if it was in a warming oven but it wont ever get as hot as that, you should always leave it to cool down after you blow it out though.
