2nd October Friday

and it is beautiful and cold here this morning!!! The chimney sweep came yesterday and fitted the register plate and swept the Rayburn flue, sadly we found a dead Wren in there, how they get in I never know  Sad
so
the front fire is lit which just takes the chill of the whole house as the chimney runs up through each floor, great for this time of year!!
I bought some packs of bulbs at Lidl so will probably plant them today!!!
Lizzie

Morning all, and I'm so glad you've got that register plate done at last Libby - there's nothing lovelier than an open fire I think.  Sorry about the wren though  Sad

It's dull and wet here this morning, so what with that and getting up 15 minutes later than normal, I only had a short-ish walk with the dogs this morning.  Last evening, I went to see one of the chaps from work in a play, which was very funny and just what I needed - a good laugh!

Also yesterday I had my redundancy confirmed so now I've got a proper leaving date (6th November, because I have holiday to take as well).  Only five weeks away - I can hardly wait!  Laughing

Have a great day everyone  Very Happy
Kathy

Morning all, a bit dreich here.

Meant to say Libby, Lidls had sold out of those wood burning thingies (forgot the name). The sales assistant very kindly phoned round all the other stores within driving distance but apparently most stores sold out on the first day.  Sad

Mostly animal type stuff to do again today and I need to sort out a menu for Sunday. A leaving buffet, Indian style for Greenlady. She's off to Australia on Monday with her BF (he's Australian) for up to a year. She's not sure how long she'll stay, just play it by ear she says. This is the chef chappie who also washes up after himself BTW, I've been helping her to pack...................

Busy day here, I took Samson on a beach ride this morning and nearly ended up having to swap onto the other horse the customer was riding because she was finding her too much. I used to ride Empress before I had Samson so I know her really well. That horse can move Laughing But the other girl swapped on to her and Samson led the way home because he is sensible Laughing

The kids had their harvest festival today and it was very good. E made me laugh so much with her acting for the drama bit.

Have also just applied for her secondary school place. It's very scary worrying about making the right choice but she is happy with her decision and I think it's the right one. They have a huge art/drama/music department and she's really excited about that. If she's happy all the other things will fall into place Very Happy It's also where Ali's children go so she will know a couple of the older ones.

Good luck to Greenlady and hugs for you Kathy x
nanny-now and forever

bit cold and grey here, didn't get my laundry completely dry so i had to stick it in the dryer in the end

loads of people here today and no stables to clear out as no one in last night

measured round a couple of fields for some fencing this morning and fiddled about a bit while the others got on with some horse handling then after lunch we all went round the block, 3 on horseback and 2 walking (i walked)...oneof the coleg students was here and rode all the way, he was really quite good and has clearly done it before ...we were all pleased for him, he enjoyed himself so much

a good day really
Cabbagepatch

Woohoo I love Friday evenings, two whole days off!!!

Just about to light the woodburner and snuggle down with a bowl of soup, the hounds and either my current book or a TV programme  depending on whether there is anything worth watching.  Obviously will try to leave a little space on the end of the sofa for his Lloydiness!!

Back later if still awake  Rolling Eyes  Laughing

Bugger the soup, lamb koftas from the freezer for me, with mini pittas and some garlicky mayo/onion drench on top. Proper Friday night food.

And a glass of apple juice, obviously......
Libby

Thanks Kathy, those wood burning tools went like hot cakes?? Thanks for looking anyway!

Will E be going with greenlady? I am right in that she is her mum, or have I got my wires crossed?????? again  Rolling Eyes
Becki

I don't think E is greenladys daughter, I think she is Kathy's other daughters. I think Laughing
Kathy

Laughing Crossed wires Libby! I have 3 daughters and a son, oldest daughter is R who is E's Mum, then Greenlady the herbalist, then Coco the animal mad one. Greenman is mad too but not about animals, he's scared of horses. Shocked  Laughing
Libby
