I am really sick of the way idiots at the Alliance Against Urban 4x4s are picking only on four wheel drive vehicles. The really important message is to get carbon emissions down on ALL gas guzzlers. Picking on 4x4 alone only makes them look like bigoted 'toff haters'. (Which I'm sure they are).
Why should someone driving a diesel Toyota Rav4 which is a frugal lower emission car look worse than someone driving a big Merc or Jaguar, which is using far more fuel?
Landrover make a good point, 70% of all Landrovers are still on the road, and because they last longer, so they are in fact greener than a Toyota Prious which will need to be scrapped and remade more often.
Also, they claim 4x4s are more dangerous, RUBBISH, they are in fact more able to cope with the terrible road surfaces we have today, they have better road vision, and they protect their occupants better. A WELL MAINTAINED CAR IS AS SAFE AS THE PERSON DRIVING IT. FACT.
So drop the 4x4 hating rubbish, stop putting your bl**dy silly fake parking tickets on 4x4s and get the eco message across in a less divisive way.
