Another knitting problem! In easy stages please!
How do I increase a stitch by winding yarn around the left hand needle?
I am trying to knit a teddy bear, and have already started three times and had to rip out and start again
Frustrated from Somerset!!!!!!!!!

I've never increased this way Cookie, can you post a few lines from the pattern, or even scan and post the page, I'll see if I can help.

Taken from the pattern:
It should be noted that where the pattern calls for an increase stitch, this should be worked by wrapping the yarn around the left-hand needle and knitting a new stitch in this manner.
Am I being totally dense, the pattern looked so easy, all knitted in garter stitch. Thanks for your help.

here is a link that might help......it shows right hand needle, but you can do it on the left and then knit it.........

That sounds very odd to me - I've never seen an instruction like that. If I were you I'd just knit twice into the stitch on the left hand needle - that should produce the same result anyway.
Edited to say you could have a look on

which has lots of useful video clips....
