at last the new arrival

11.30 last night mr nanny assisted as midwife to spangle and a lovely filly foal was born

mother and daughter are doing well





isn't she just the biz?

we were very lucky as she is a big foal for the size of the mare and it could have been a very difficult birth

as it was, mr nanny said he hardly had to help at all

My daughter "Flute" has just gone all mushy...

& even I would go as far as to say what a cutie Laughing (Not a word I use everyday you understand Wink )

This is Twix, she was rehomed when Coco went to Uni, still in the same home and will be there for life according to her owners!

i can now tell you that as a result of the competition monday, the foal'sname is "Calico"

a combination of callie and coco

2 very happy children get a year's adoption and a day at the farm

She is a really bonny wee thing, and she does look a bit like twix, I love foals and their curly whiskers.... How big is her mum?  She is also lovely.

mum is 13 something and we expect calico to make 15, we found out that dad is a section d cob, a big animal....
she is spending her first night out in the field with mom, mr nanny is thither and yon checking on them...they have a shelter to go in and the weather is set to be fine tonight with a bit of a breeze to keep any frost off

he is worse than a mother hen sometimes.....
