Autumn/Harvest Bounty SwapHow about late September/begining of October for this one?Lots of lovely things spring to mind, jams, chutneys, dried fruit/seeds, dried herbs/lavenders. Ideas on a postcard please! Who would like to join in? |

Other suggestions, Aqui suggested in the other thread a picture made from autumn leaves, a framed picture from pressed dried flowers would also work. Natural dyed wool using summer berries or something knitted from said wool. Embroidery/cross stitch projects depicting summer/autumn images or quotes. Calender for 2007 with pictures and quotes/poems from summer and early autumn. There must be so many more ideas...

With jars rememeber to wrap with at least three layers of corrie card to prevent breakages. Also plastic film gives extra strength as does parcel tape (just doesn't look good) | ||||

Anyone still craving inclusion must grovel bigtime to me, or in my absence, Cabbage. Everyone in the swap will receive mail within the week giving the swap partner information. Party on, Groovers!!

The theme this time is autumn/harvest. The rules go something like this: it must be made by you, mustn't cost a lot of money to make and it must have an autumn/harvest connection somehow. you will be given your swap partners name and address, we'll be starting a new thread for questions in which you can ask as many questions as you like and everyone taking part must answer the questions, this gives you a chance to get to know your partners likes and dislikes. you must keep your partner a secret so that when they receive the gift they have to guess who made it. a posting deadline is usually set giving us a few weeks to make something. you can make anything from food (e.g. preserves, pickles etc) to craft type things like knitting, embroidery, soap, painting, to gardening things like saved seeds etc. If you look in the last swap, I think it was the spring swap you'll get an idea of the gifts made. And of course in return for your gift you'll receive a beautiful hand made gift from someone else in the swap and you'll need to guess who made it for you.

If you are hoping to get an allotment, possibly the seed swap would be a good idea? I'd have thought you could be added onto that. There is a post on the gardening forum about it.
