Following on from the fabric softener topic, Lizzie mentioned cream cleaner and Mogs mentioned loo cleaner. Can you post the recipes in here please, and any others you use, it would be useful for the wonderful bicarb to have it's own thread!
Tip.....if you have access to a chinese supermarket you can buy bulk bicarb very cheaply.

Here goes - this is from memory as the recipe is stuck on the noticeboard at home...

1 part bicarb
1 part washing up liquid (we use BioD)
3 parts water
a capful of vinegar
a few drops of whatever essential oil you like - I usually use teatree but only because it's one I always have in the house

Mix together the bicarb, washing up liquid and water until smooth (I usually use a small whisk for this). Add the vinegar and mix - it foams a bit but isn't too violent - then add the oil and mix some more.

That's it! It can solidify in the bottle if you leave it for too long (i.e. don't clean the bath very often)...

Kim & Aggie used this to clear and clean drains

Bicarb poured down the plug hole, followed by a cup of vineagar then a kettle of boiling water!

In fact they use bicarb for lots!

I must see if I can find a bulk buy of bicarb!!

Libby, do you have a scoop shop anywhere near? You know, where they have great barrels of dry goods and you just scoop as much as you need...our local one has bicarb which works out pretty cheap without all the packaging.
