Blog probs - Mrs NesbittI used to be a dab hand with my blogspot - but now it is wrecked! Well not exactly.They have updated the site, so I clicked on Beta - etc. Clicked to view a template - then to view my site - and had my old one but in program format, clicked back arrow and got a new one. No counter which was important as I had almost 26,000 hits in 7 months. Lost all my links but managed to find and add some, but not others as I don't remember their site names. Any way that I can restore my counter, links etc does anyone know? Mrs N has a really fancy one, so I am crossing fingers that she can put me strainght

Lottie I logged onto your blog earlier today and got the fright of my life. The last post was you talking about frost, I nearly choked on my coffee! Then I read the date and it was a post from november last year. I assumed you were working on it or something that's why I didn't mention it.
You can install a new hit counter and most of them allow you to set the starting count to whatever you want. If you do a google search for free hit counters there are loads to choose from. It will give you some html code that you paste into the side bar of your blog, in the place where you put links. |

Go to Google.com and do a search for Allotment Lady. When the search results come up, click on "Cached" as of tonight, it had your site as of Tuesday this week. If that gets over written before you get a chance to review it, let me know as I have saved a copy and can send it to you.

Thanks one and all - got into a bit of a panic last night. Have lost some books that Becki made for me, (in a safe place  ) and now need one of them.
Anyone know when she is back so that she can make me another one btw? I could find the counters - but I wanted to find my counter with my readings on it already. Google only has my latest changed blog doh! Have asked Dave to look at my Tuesday one, bless his shining armour, so that I can work out the aprrox total from there. I get about 80 - 100 hits a day depending on what I have been writing! Thanks for your supportxx |

L, the counter I uploaded allowed me to set it at 140, which was the number I was up to.

Lottie I have a spare book that Becki made, I'll send it to you if you need it. I'm not sure it will suit whoever it is for though, it has the saying on it: To sit in the shade on a fine day and look upon verdure is the most perfect refreshment Not sure when Becki is back, I'm Alison will know. |

If you look at the source code of the cached version of your site, you should be able to cut and paste the bit that relates to your counter, so it would be getting the same one back. Of course, it would be like it had been paused in the intervening time. |

Its as fixed as it is going to be for the time being. Everyone has been so helpful in mrutty's absence.
Dave came galloping into the shed on his white charger and helped me. I changed over to Beta - by accident - just intended to have a look. Still apart from a few white hairs, sleepless nights (and probably a sleepless knight trying to sort me out) it is jogging along. Not too keen on the layout - but am leaving well alone. Life's too short to be doing all that palavar again
And the fact that I am at that purple age has nothing to do with it.
