BobbinsWhile out with the girls today I actually saw some hand turned wooden bobbins at £2.80 each. How about that for a coinsidence.

Hehe, yes.
Some patterns need more than 40 pairs of bobbins, that could cost a lot! I guess if you get into it, you start out needing less anyway though, so it's not so much of a blow as if you went and bought 100 at once...
We used to buy bobbin "blanks", little bits of interesting wood just the right size for making the bobbins from. I've no idea how much they used to cost.

Still, if you knew someone who was making lace then you could by a couple for them as a present.
