Bobbins

While out with the girls today I actually saw some hand turned wooden bobbins at £2.80 each. How about that for a coinsidence. Smile

Hehe, yes.

Some patterns need more than 40 pairs of bobbins, that could cost a lot! I guess if you get into it, you start out needing less anyway though, so it's not so much of a blow as if you went and bought 100 at once...

We used to buy bobbin "blanks", little bits of interesting wood just the right size for making the bobbins from. I've no idea how much they used to cost.

I was going to say that that sounds like a bargain for something hand turned - then I paged down and saw how many you need Haize Rolling Eyes Rolling Eyes

Still, if you knew someone who was making lace then you could by a couple for them as a present.

And NO this is not a cue for you all posting saying you are just starting - I said if I knew someone - for a forum full Rolling Eyes

Is Lloyd allowed a lathe in the living room?! My dad and I would be most envious if so! Hehe.
