Bonfire night

Why does bonfire night now spread over at least three days, a few years ago no one would dream of lighting a firework unless it was Nov.5th but now it's the norm to have parties leading up to the day and passed it.
I am sitting here listening to explosions every few seconds why are they so loud now? thats progress I guess Confused

And why have one anyway, it's only a celebration of a violent event that happened hundreds of years ago.
There's nothing new about religious violence .....................

i hate bonfire night.............aswell as new years eve..........bl**dy fireworks sending all the animals crazy.
we are outside the town, way above on the mountain, but we still get whoops and bangs.
the livestock are always spooked the next day or so, and the ponies are very wide eyed for a day or two aswell.

why on earth dont they ban them from general sale and only sell them to organisations i will never know.

and only have them ( if they must have them at all ) on the actual night of the 5th.
stop all this nonesence of having them going off a week before and a week after.......

sorry, off soap box now..... Rolling Eyes

I agree we have at least 3 weeks of it here, and then every time a football match is won, there are people even door to door selling dodgy chinese fireworks to kids round here, luckily the dogs and kids are fine with it but yesterday it was like a smog in the evening full of sulphur
