Broken bone remedies

In broken bones, you want to promote the production of new tissue, for this there are several very useful herbs.

1) Comfrey leaf taken internally as a tea
2)Horse-tail taken internally again, as a tea

You could take equal amounts of these 2, and you would use 1 teaspoon of the mixed herbs stewed in boiling water for about 20 mins, this is repeated 3 times daily.

Some research shows cinammon to have a healing affect on breaks and fractures.

So I need to track down comfrey leaf.... any suppliers you know of?
I like cinnamon... especially on doughnuts and pancakes and french toast and apple pie.
Hmmm.
Thank you!

We use Rutland Biodynamic for our herbal supplies at the clinic, but the amounts they provide are really for businesses, I'm trying to think what is near you n, are you in Edinburgh often? Napiers dispensary sell smaller amounts to the public as you wouldnt need to take it long term, maybe only for a couple of months. Maybe ordering online would be easier given your mobility problem though! I would definatley take the combined mix of horse-tail and comfrey if you can

Actually, now I come to think of it I will be at the McEwan Hall for my mum's graduation on Thursday, and that is directly opposite Napiers.
I seem to be having a week of such coincidences.
Will they sell it to me over the counter? and if so, exactly what do I ask for?

I'm sure they sell it over the counter, but I would phone them beforehand just in case. Working on the basis of using a tincture for 6 weeks you would need 400ml total mix at 10 ml daily(using comfrey over a prolonged period is generally not advised, but you will have a little of the ticture left over). So you would ask for 200 ml symphytum officinalis folia (comfrey) and 200ml Equisetum arvense (horsetail). I dont think they have many teas in stock, its really down to preference if you want to use a tincture or a tea, if you chose a tea it would be 100g of each taken as I said before.

i am a bit surprised you drink both as a tea greenlady.....i know that peple used to use comfrey poultices (wasn't it called "bone-knit?") but i have never heard of it as a tea for broken bones

can't hurt i guess...what is in it then that makes it worth drinking as a tea for broken bones?

silica perhaps in the horse tail?

but what in the comfrey?

my goats love comfrey by the way
nanny-now and forever

sorry chaps

didn't read the flower pot thread first

this has all been said before

bit of deja vue never hurt anybody i guess

p.s.

i sometimes give the goats willow withies to chew on because it is the original aspirin

when kaiser was losing his first teeth i think it helped to ease the aggro a bit...
GreenLady

Is willow withies another name for white willow bark?
nanny-now and forever

if you like

the withies are long stems of willow that they chew the bark off of

they eat theleaves first, then strip the bark off

millie and adele stop at every willow tree they find which can make a walk last a very long time
GreenLady
