I think you can steam the leaves, like spinach, and boil the stems and use them like cooked celery. We grew some a couple of years ago for the same reason - gorgeous colours. Unfortunately, we both thought it tasted disgusting ...

We love chard.
quiche, omlette, chard and ricotta, curry, anything really.

Lovely in stir fries. You can also steam the stems instead of boiling them - just put them in a few minutes before the leaves which don't take as long.

I had some this evening, I did a sort of medley of fried vegetables in tamari and balsamic vinegar, popped the chard in at the end and put the lid on for 5 mns, lovely.
