Shocked Shocked Becki, have you been drinking? Laughing Laughing
Becki

No but I plan to start shortly. I am going to be so good from tomorrow that I intend to stay off the booze. I have 1 bottle of baily's, 1 box of wine 4 cans diamond white and 7 bottles of smirnoff ice to get through.
Cabbagepatch

will be arriving in precisely 45 minutes Wink Laughing
Becki

Your not here! Where are you?
n

I did buy some Christmas cards in the sales Shocked
And, as always, I plan to be better organised this year....

I always have about that - but 6 lists because I've lost most of them about the house Embarassed Laughing

And substitute bag for pockets in my case, which makes for a rather lumpy coat Rolling Eyes

I'm not starting on Christmas 2007 yet, as we've yet to do most of the presents for 2006. Seriously, I'm posting some tomorrow. Shocked

No you mis understand they are all different lists,
at the moment she has
presents to make for next year
things to do for the wedding
things to do for the hen / stag nights
evening guest list
seating plans
presents list
wedding buffet
decorations to make
spring clean list
building work list
photos to be taken by the photographer
ect ect
Haize

Ah, but lists are very very good things when it comes to weddings. I assure you that every wedding related list is essential, and will make life a *lot* easier.

Just imagine if the photo of best man (I believe woman in this case) with family was forgotten! Or something... Very Happy

Apparently I started writing my building work list too early, as it goes on for pages and pages and pages... But hey, I like lists Razz

I also have an ultra-long-term list, with things like move to a village too small to have street lights, retire early, and so on and so forth Twisted Evil
redwillowrose

I have bought wrapping paper, and cards, and tags, which I intend to use for card making, al reduced in the sales. I want to make things for people next christmas, so I will also have to start making lists Very Happy

lottie

Golly - I never make lists - I feel totally incompetent now! Rolling Eyes

There would be no point in my case as even if I 'plan' to do something the next day doesn't work out.

But I have made 4 out of my 50+ needed Christmas cards Embarassed Laughing
Becki

The trouble is with me, if I buy things too early, I usually end up seeing something else that I prefer. Someone who comes through my till at Asda says she writes what she has got in a November section of her diary so when it gets serious Christmas shopping time she can remember what she has got for whom.
Becki

Oh and I'm still thinking of starting the cards too Laughing
muntjac

i bought 3 of those xmas light things in plastic .a snowman a father xmas im a sled .and some trees and litle elves for putting in the garden .. oh and a father xmas on a swing . £5 each down from £35 maes about 10 i have now lol
Libby

Oh my!!! Shocked

but I do like lists
Very Happy
I have gone through what we ate and drank this Christmas, what worked and what didn't, whether I need to buy more or not bother buying atall and made a list (on the computer, so I can't lose it) for next Christmas!

Does that count as getting ready??
Becki

Yes that counts!
Libby

Laughing Laughing Laughing
redwillowrose

This mornign we bought our christmas tree LOL we went to B&Q and they were selling fake £60 christmas trees for £2 Very Happy Very Happy I couldn`t believe it Very Happy Very Happy
lottie

Lost for words Laughing Laughing Laughing
Well done you.
mc55

I love lists - have an excel spreadsheet with last years pressies and prices so I can keep track / avoid buying twice (sad I know, but I can't help it). I tend to buy presents whenever I see them, especially if they are in the sale, so I've already got a couple of the easier ones and some b'day pressies too.

Want to do more home made ones this year though - last year made a scarf for mum, jewelry for a friend and seed markets for dad's lottie. This year I'd like to make some 'hamper' items, such as jam, lemon curd, chutney etc.
Kathy

Well done RWR!!

You've a brave heart mc55 keeping lists, I've lost more lists than I've made! Laughing

We found a stick with tinsel wrapped around it today, down the back of a chair, we've decided just to leave it, save us dragging down from the attic at the end of the year.
Haize

Our Christmas tree (undecorated) is still indoors, as the horrific gales that have been howling around recently would have knocked it over repeatedly, which can't be good for the thing. Also, it has new buds that have formed because of coming in from the cold in december, so now if there is a bad frost they will die Sad Really wishing I had the greenhouse already... Rolling Eyes
redwillowrose

I`ve bought some more stocking filler today Laughing Laughing
A shop in town was selling packs of beads, there was a pack with egyptian beads, and a pack with African beads, for making necklaces etc.
They were originally £6 each and I got them for £1 each Smile Very Happy
lottie

Wow lucky you! Thats the one thing I miss about living in a rural area - don't have any big towns to get bargains - or small towns to get small bargains Rolling Eyes

I would have snapped up some of those packs for sure!
redwillowrose

I love Poundland at Weston Super Mare. I dont get to go there very often though, maybe next month ! Its amazing what you can get for a pound Very Happy Very Happy

Kathy

Cabbagepatch

It seems that has Christmas has arrived.

I received my first card today Shocked

It was an ecard from one of my nieces (age 22). A beautiful snowy scene with Santa in his sleigh flying across the night sky.

Naturally I sent her an email back, thanking her profusly for her thoughtfulness Laughing Laughing
Libby

Shocked goodness, where does she live??? Some far off distant land???
Cabbagepatch

No, five miles away. I can only think she was trying to win a bet with her friends to see who could send one out first. Bless her, she's a lovely girl Rolling Eyes Laughing

Hmm, mefinks I might just send her TEN in return........ Cool
Jojo

Makes it all them more Christmassy for me.
