97 days now folks. Thats only just over 3 months.

Unusually for me I have done nothing  Confused  motivation is at an all time low!

We have a £5 limit on pressies, and Christmas will be spent at our house with just us. My mum and her partner may come but thats still to be decided!

I'm sorry, just don't want anyone complaining how it crept up on them  Laughing

Quite right too Libby.

I have to start thinking now, as we don't see one brother and family very often, so we get all Christmas and birthday pressies for the next year, and deliver to in laws, 200 miles away during Oct half term, as someone will cross over with them by Christmas.

If anyone is thinking about turkey, I will be selling and sending them out again this year.
Libby

very tempted this year Alison as should only be 6 of us. Let us know prices please  Very Happy

I love Christmas and the run up to it - make myself lots of mental lists.  It'd probably be a bit too scary to actually write them down this early.  I make written lists usually about mid November.

Made the Christmas Cake at the weekend (and I refuse to call it an iced fruit cake!).  It'll be fed with brandy once a week until first week of December when I shall marzipan it and then ice it a couple of weeks later.

Christmas Pudding being made this coming weekend.
Libby

so when is 'stir up' saturday or is it sunday!!

I will definately make Crimbo cake and mincemeat, thinking about it I still have one jar left from last year so will make a cake with it mixed in this weekend I think!!!
Lizzie

Stir up Sunday is the last Sunday before Advent (i.e. the fifth Sunday before Christmas) - this year it'll be 22nd November I think...
Libby

well thats the day I will be stirring up!! we could make it a Potting Shed event too  Very Happy So we all stir together??
Becki

I have got the teachers presents in a lovely little craft place in Lee. Lovely handmade tealights for £1.50. Very pleased.
Libby

Shocked  blimey I am behind, I really ought to start making lists  Laughing

Following Delia Smith's recipe for mincemeat here which has about another hour in the oven before it comes out to cool down and then have a few tablespoons of brandy added to it before being put in jars ready for pie making time.

Sad thing is - I've got a stinking cold so can't smell the delicious smells that must be coming from my oven right now  Sad

In a few weeks' time I'll probably make up a couple of trays of mincepies and put them in the freezer with the pastry raw, ready to bring out and bung straight in the oven as needed.

Haven't made my own pastry for years but am going to have a go this year seen as I've made the extra effort with everything else.

Once we have got beyond Halloween, and then Bonfire night, I shall concentrate my mind on Christmas.
Becki

I have got a few little things for Christmas while out shopping. We don't do Halloween in our house, and the local mums organise a massive firework night so thats all in hand Very Happy
I want to be better prepared this year, I felt rather hassled last year.
