Sorting out the various bits of paper that accumulate on shelves, behind vases, stuffed in drawers etc. I've been at it all evening and most of it has been thrown away. However, I couldn't file the stuff to keep properly as the filing cabinet hadn't been sorted so I had to do that too. I couldn't get into that drawer because the PC CD drawer above it was making it stick so I had to sort that before I could get into.........................anyway, you get the picture!
It's all done now, everything filed properly, passports, birth certificates etc. I know you told us to do this a while back Alison but I had a premonition that it might be a LONG job!

but it is SO satisfying when its done.
I file all of my bills etc, but not immediately and am always astonished that there seems to be 6 months worth of stuff when I get around to it.

When I collect up the paper from around our house and start sorting it, I get as far as all the bank statements, bills, and other obvious things put away in their rightful places, but then I have a stack of really random things that I'm not sure I can get rid of yet, but where on earth do you file them?! One off type things, I have a box full and no idea what to do with it all

I just put those type of things in the miscellaneous file, there might be a lot but I know where to find them if I need them!
