Ducks - dispatching for the table?I have read Muntjacs chooks for the table thread and thinks it's great.
The waiting until they settle for the night is the key - as little stress as possible, always respect your stock.
I may have to prepare a duck very soon, The problem I have is all the ducks I have previously prepared have been shot, so the dispatching is not a question. In this case the duck will be live and I'm erring on the side of caution due to their neck structure appearing different to chooks.
Does anybody have a tried and tested method for dispatching ducks?

The neck vertebrae are bigger and stronger, so best to use an axe and chopping board for this one. If you can, do it late at night when its going to be very sleepy, take it to an area away from the rest where they can'thear, take hold of the feet and turn it swiftly upside downso its head and neck ret on the board. A small meat cleaver would be ideal.
