Lloyd is a welsh pottie. Does that mean we should attend to keep the side up so to speak????? Cool
Bovey Belle

I'm going, and I'm a Welsh pottie (or should that read Welsh Wino?) Hope to see you there both.

i should think so

but his lloydliness must wear the welsh kilt and carry a leek so that he can be recognised
Cabbagepatch

Am quite weary this evening...an early night is called for.

So going to bed with a mug of horlicks and book.

Have done yoga and meditation so feel quite sure I shall sleep without dwelling on welshman, kilts and leeks.

Confused
lloyd

Very Happy I have no kilt but do have a birthday suit if that would do ? ( Shocked )

Seriously, We are planning on coming, Nanster. Do you have a barn we could kip in?

i have consulted mr nanny re your attire lloyd

he says birthday suit is ok providing it is ironed

and you are allowed to wear sox with your sandals but only if they proclaim your welshness

we always have a stable free.......or at least we can always make one free

does CP know she is doing scene 2 from the christmas story?

i have donkeys and goats.....baby jesus could be a tad difficlut but if all else fails, you can borrow merlin and wrap him in a blanket before ramming him in a hay net for the night
Bovey Belle

. . . Lloyd is now going shopping for socks with Leeks on them . . . Welsh onions will do at a pinch.

P.S. Does Merlin know what you have planned for him? You'll never fit all of him in a haynet you know, especially with legs like those!
nanny

i wouldn't dare tell merlin

he is a delicate flower as you well know

in a greyhound sort of way

he woudl certainly do the sleep bit but the hay net bit could be awkward i agree
lloyd

I'm lost for words! Laughing

The weather was kind, and Lluest was absolutely heaving with people and dogs. It was a super day out and I hope that you raised lots of money for the Trust, Nanny and Adrian, as well as raising awareness generally. I thought that the parade was particularly effective, illustrating, as it did, the work that the Trust does. I took loads of pictures, and will show you a selection when they are all loaded and ready to copy. The only thing driving me mad at the moment is the name of the little pony in with Min, Pryderi and Magic . . . oh, and the name of the elderly pony who was in the parade, who has only just arrived at Lluest.
Kathy

Oh I'm so pleased, I think Nanny was all of a twitter about it all. I know the hard work that goes into organising something like this. Look forward to seeing the photos. Very Happy
Cabbagepatch

Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy Brilliant. Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy
Jellycat

Oh I'm so glad it all went well - it jolly well should have done after all the effort nanny and mr. nanny put in.

Well done Very Happy
nanny

hello everybody

it did go well and we were very pleased with the money, could be as high as £750 - £800 if i include the extra donations that people gave

we ran out of food, tea and coffee and easter eggs for the kids

jennie did take loads of photos and gave us a hand during the pony parade with some crowd control down at the paddock gate

one bad moment came when sam (used to be a gentelman now a lothario) went a bit bananas in his stable in the big barn and jumped over the door...martin got hold of him and shouted for everybody to leave at once and problems were averted

pony rides were slow at first and then picked up once frances did an advertising wander with her grandson jakey aboard, after that the rides were a success

there were 108 dogs entered in all the classes and the dog show people gave us a donation of over £350 as a result

all in all a good day but boy am i glad it's all over - for now

just finished eating and now sitting with a tot of whiskey

jennie - thanks for your help and i still have your plate.........

i am my dear

i shall sleep soundly tonight i think.........a bit of clearingup tomorrow but most things put away
Becki

I'm really pleased for you nanny. We have been discussing tonight whether we could get over to see you all at some point, if thats alright, not anytime soon but at some point Very Happy
Bovey Belle

Well, the next Open Day is 10th June I believe, so perhaps we will see you then Becki?

I am so pleased it was such a success Nanny - I should have a pottering about day today if I were you! Here are some of the photos I took. First Adele, who along with Millie, always had a crowd of admirers around them:

This is a new arrival, Matilda, who has scarcely any teeth left, and has lost much condition over the winter. She is now on a special diet and will start to gain condition again:

She has such a wise face:

Hopefully she will soon look like Joy:

Here's Humphrey, who decided he would keep himself to himself! :

The dog show was very popular - here is the lineup for the Champion of the show:

Finally, here is Gwilym, waiting to lead the parade:

nanny

good pictures jennie

the lady with gwilym is called frances and is our part time groom age 64 and a lovely lady indeed...it was her 9 yr old grandson that led mathilda into the ring and he did very well

yesterday was cleaning out the stables day (there are 21 in the big barn) and putting lots of stuff away and then we had some people who wanted to have a look round the trust just as we managed so sit down for a cheese roll about 2.30 and after they left and hour later we had the afternoon feed/hay

becki i know there will be another dog show this summer if you want to bring yours and we would be so pleased to see any of you if you can come....
Becki

They will destroy the place Shocked Laughing
Kathy

Which dog won Nanny?

to be honest i havne't a clue kathy

by the time they got that far i was busy helping to clear up in the office i think

a good time was had by all i know though because the food ran out, the dog show judges didn't get anything to eat .......next time we will do them a packed lunch type thing

becki, your dogs wouldn't have made a jot of difference had they been here....there were so many breeds i didn't know them all but no greyhounds oddly enough...........whippets, yes....anubian hounds,yes...but no greyhounds and come to think of it i don't htink i saw many spaniels either so you would be in iwth a chance.....

in fact it would also be a good excercise for you and rosie kathy
Kathy

Better get a towbar on the car and Coco off for trailer driving lessons. Cool

sounds good to me kathy......
Bovey Belle

Only a couple of spaniels Becki. Kathy - it was the hairy black and tan dawg wot won - not sure if just Best Puppy or Best of Show - it was pulled out first in the Championship and then the lovely Golden Retriever beside it.

Ah Nanny, so the lovely red and white dawg with the Big Ears was an Anubian Hound - I was thinking Pharoah Hound, but perhaps they are one and the same? Or kissing cousins?

seh called it an anubian hound but perhaps they are one and the same bovey

lovely looking creature but i think i prefer my merlin in the long run

so is it a date then becki and kathy?

a best in show competition between 2 potties?

and perhaps lloyd and CP's could be in the most like the owners class.....
Kathy

Laughing Laughing

Mr Kathy is talking about stronger suspension thingys on the estate, for towing, he doesn't know we have "plans" Cool
nanny

suspension thingees on an estate eh?

will you steal away with the caravan in the dead of night before or after the suspension thingees?

it would be fun though wouldn't it?

tell green lady that i will try and have our volunteer here for her if she should attend........it was greenlady wasn't it?
Kathy

They are all looking Nanny but it's only a 2 berth caravan, don't fancy sharing with that lot. Shocked

they can always put up a tent somewhere in the field.....young people don't mind that sort of stuff.....i need a bath and a proper bed myself but when i was younger a tent would do.............you could be the mother ship and they could be your satellite

how's that?
Kathy

Shocked Shocked I'll sleep with Gwilym......................

if you like

nice matress of fresh straw and only the sound of munching horses for company

probably humphrey and zorro

matilda, molly, kizzy and hopefully champion (chunk i call him) and his trainers will be in the stallion stable soon

makes me laugh every time i go into the big barn and see chunk's special laminitis boots out in front of his stable like 2 paris of nike trainers waiting to be cleaned by the butler.....
