I found this one here http://www.vam.ac.uk/images/image/13023-popup.html
BED SOCKS
Materials: 3 oz. of Jaeger "Spiral-Spun" (7d. per oz.), 1 pair of No. 7Jaeger knitting needles, and 1 No. 10 Jaeger crochet hook.
Measurements: Length from top to lower edge of heel, 10.5 inches; length of foot, 9.5 inches.
Tension: 6 stitches to 1 inch in width, and 11 rows to 2 inches in depth, measured over the garter-stitch.
Abbreviations: K. = knit; p. = purl; sts. = stitches; tog. = together.
Casting on: If you cast on with two needles work into the back of all cast-on sta. to produce firm edges, but if you use the thumb method this is not necessary.
Begin at the lower edge. Cast on 110 sts. and work 4.5 inches in garter-st. Cast off 25 sts. at the beginning of the next 2 rows (60 sts.). Now make the eye-let holes as follows: Next row - * K.1, wool forward, k.2 tog. Rep. from * to end. Next row - K. Change to k.4, p.4 rib and continue on these sts. for 6 inches. Cast off. Work another sock exactly like the first.
THE MAKING UP
Press the work on the wrong side with a warm iron and damp cloth. Join the seams, and press them. Now using double wool and the crochet hook work a chain 20 inches in length. Thread the cord through the eye-let holes, then make two tassels and sew one to each end of the cord. Work a row of double crochet round the top of the socks.
