I like a wide range of music. Love the Dubliners ( my grandad's fault) and the Spinners, so folk music is a big yes for me. On the other hand I like anything 60's, 80's with some 70's. My favourite group are the Bauhaus, followed closely by Nic Cave. Oh and just remembered Roy Orbison, Simon & Garfunkle, Cat Stevens, Johnny Cash, David Bowie, and I'm a closet adam and the ants fan

loads of people have sung his stuff
i bet no one else apart from me still has their copy of "tap root manuscript" though
and whatever happened to "blood sweat and tears" is what i want to know?

Reading through the previous postings there are such varied
favourites but nobody mentions my favourite Alan Price .
(I run a fan club forum)
I have seen his concerts many times over the years and as he is
doing a tour with The Manfreds this October/November I have tickets to
see him again (sigh).
|
Libby
|
Blimey I haven't heard of Alan Price for years?? He's still alive then?? Well he must be if you run a fanclub forum for him
|
Kathy
|
Didn't he sing "Oh No Don't Stop the Carnival?" Have you been a fan a long time then Ladybird?
|
Ladybird
|
He did indeed Kathy. Yes could say I have always been a fan since he started with The Animals. As I said, he is doing a tour this October/November with The Manfreds and I have got tickets to see him, but of course!
We are really lucky that these rock stars from the sixties are still doing shows for us as most of them must be in their late 50s or even well into their 60s so they are retiring age and still rocking and rolling - and looking very well on it most of them.

I play the single e flat tuba, & have two of them sat in my front room, the smallest of the proper tubas...
I keep telling Lady Sparhawk to wait until I can get hold of the one I really want
As for marches I wouldn't want to think how many different ones I've played ranging from traditional british, through to contemporary ones & some foreign ones too I particulaly like playing the Sousa marches & marches by Richard Waterer (Former director of music of the Royal Marines & Sousa fan) I think both of them must have had some strange fascination with seeing a tuba player suffer
|
Kathy
|
My Father loves marches and I was bought up listening to Sousa! I think he must have just about every military march ever composed, at the moment he is particularly into german marches and it's funny to see an 83 year old standing up and conducting an invisible band with a knitting needle (my Mothers)!
