Following on from the Spring Swap....yes yes I know some of you(like me) haven't finished your "gift" yet but forwarned is fourarmed as somebody once said!

Make an original peg bag!!!!
I have had a word with Jesse and we both think this is a great idea. The challenge is to make it out of something a bit different but it has to serve the purpose of a peg bag! ie whilst a paper foled masterpiece may look good it wouldn't do very well in the rain...

Details to follow ie time scales and practicalities but in the meantime get your thinking caps on.

Just a little reminder for those wanting to take part in the peg bag challenge to keep your eyes open for potential materials, ideas etc.

D, have we decided on a date for this yet? Perhaps the last day of May to reveal our creations?

Muahahah, I only just read this, but already have an idea. As an Engineer, it will obviously be totally and utterly overcomplicated.

And how is it that I'm not a *real* engineer?...

I even have oily overalls!

Joke about mathematician, physicist, and engineer:

Mathematician says "1, 3, 5, 7 are prime numbers, 9 isn't, 11 is. Therefore not all odd numbers are prime."
Physicist says "1, 3, 5, 7, 11 prime, 9 isn't. Therefore all odd numbers are prime, with experimental error."
Engineer says "1, 3, 5, 7, 9, 11, prime numbers. Therefore all odd numbers are prime."

When I was doing my HND in computing ( I was 46 yrs old) I got the same, was the only female in the class. "Are you sure you'll manage that screwdriver".

I graduated top of the class in tech support, so rats to the lot of them!

I did get pretty annoyed the day there were builders working in the room before my office, and they were letting guys through... When I went to go through they said "Can't come through here without permission, miss".

I was a little stunned, so pointed in the direction of the guy *right in front of me* and said "but he..."

To which I had the reply "I don't care if you're with him, it's the site rules"

Grrrr arrrggggggh! Good job I do archery... Saves me having to kick people

Go Kathy! Yes, there's less of us suited to these subjects, maybe. But when we are, we're *definately* the best

Ok - I'm just catching up with this topic.

Was a date decided?

I have a few ideas, but 1. is too expensive, 2. I'm not sure how it would work and it wouldn't look very good. Oh well, back to thinks (Bluebottle style!)

My current peg bag is a totenham hot spurs plastic bag. I have no idea how I got that (i hate football!)

I'm not sure if a date was decided but I'm hoping to get the sewing machine out and make my idea this afternoon. I have a few ideas but am going to start with the most practical one first.

Count me in. As long as I can think of something!

Oh - and I need a deadline too, otherwise I'll never do it. With a deadline, as least I'll make it the day before!

Here's my first pegbag, I have some other ideas too which I'll try making another day.

Front view

Back view

Back view with buttons undone for easier access.

An old dress that J has outgrown, hand stitched the hem of the dress together, made the dress shorter at the same time otherwise the bag would have been too deep. Hung on a hanger. Easy peasy! Very Happy

Brilliant - I can do that - all I need is a little girl to adopt that is just growing out of last years summer clothes.

I suppose a pair of babygrows O-3 monthsm with a coat hanger across the top bit and through the arms won't do will it?

You can undo the poppers where the belly is and stick your hands down the legs to get the pegs.

Well I reckon it is brilliant for someone who doesn't have a sewing machine or can't sew

Grr, I need some strips of plastic for my idea, of the bendy but strong kind that we had recently (possibly easter egg related...), but have sent away for recycling. Now I'm not sure when I'll get something suitable again!
