friday night bunnny sessionnot sure if it was the weather tonite , damp ,no rain slight breeze .and blooooming colddddd but the rabbits wouldnt sit still at all , norrmally they squat down pretending they are not there .it was all long range shooting to stop them this evening tho ,100 yd shots being the norm , using 38 bullets i killed 26 outright another 3 had to be run up before they escaped and one a second shot to finish it so 38 bullets for 30 rabbits not a poor result but it certainly should have been better ,i reckon over 100 bunnies had been out playing . i saw 2 muntjac .taking out one with the 243. that went down clean . the foxes put in no shows all evening . my one highlight was hearing and then seeing a massive skien of teal and widgeon flying over great yarmouth marshes at about a 1000 ft, there must have been 6 or 700 in the flocks. the noise like that of a hundred kettles with whistles blowing. a barn owl alighted on the ground a few feet in front of us and polished of what i took to be a wood mouse . so all in all a nice evening to be out , no northern lights for me tho ,,, a bright but misty moon put paid to that
