Thanks

We produce a very fiery garlic and chilli chutney its sells very well . but be warned its mouth burning stuff. I reccomend that you use it in conjuction withh mayonase, mango chutney,or similar. it can also be used to spice up your soups or mix with single cream and use as a marinade for meat.
1lb fresh chillies de stalked then chopped
6 cloves ofcrushed garlic
4 tablespoons ground cumin
2 tablespoons ground tumeric
1 large onion finely chopped
1 tablespoon ofsalt
1oz fresh root ginger grated
1/2pint groundnut oil
3 tablespoons muscovado sugar
1/2pint white wine vinegar
mix the chillies, garlic, cumin, tumeric, onion, ginger, salt, and oil ina pan. Fry for 15 minutes stirring frequently. Add the sugar and vinegar, bring to boil, then cover the pan and boil for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.
It will keep for 12 months but stir the chutney before use as the oil will seperate when standing.
please be warned though our recipe is hot
If that seems too hot replace some of the chillies with sweet peppers to the same weight.
good Look .Mike

That sounds fantastic piggybreeder!
I had a garlic chutney that I bought from a farmers' market at Hay on Wye that sounds like the one you mentioned Carolinej.

Thanks for the recipe Mike. Thanks for looking Kathy.
I'll try that recipe.
Wildgarlic, any idea what make the chutney was, as maybe there is some sort of ingredient list for it if they are on the web?
