we only have the debit cards, but we both have an overdraft, which now I`ll somehow have to pay back, or its going to cost us a fortune in charges, £1 a day !!!!! even if you go over by only a penny, and this is for an authourised overdraft. at least it doesn`t start till 6th dec.

I don't bank with them but I have friends who do and they're furious. I foresee the other banks getting a rush of new customers over this...

I don't bank with them, I've been with Nationwide for years.

We have a Halifax account, and I was shocked to receive this letter yesterday, I think we need to do something about it. We do not use our overdraft facility, but I am still cross Halifax is not our main bank account but even so .... I have never liked Halifax but they were my DH's bank when we met, however over the years he has lost confidence in them.

thank you for bringing this to my attention as T & K bank with them although K's is a student bank account. But I still think she needs to check this out!
I need to work with T though as she definately has not got the hang of bank accounts and it looks like we will have to bail her out!!!!!

Same as Becki and I won't be changeing from them they are very helpful and no hidden "extras" to date...
Me and Rich have been through the mill abit with banks and TBH it is criminal the charges, claims and calls people have to indure from these Shark's my Nan had the right idea, stash your cash in the matress its allot safer just before christmas I had my cash point card cloned the Bank we'rnt bothered and just gave me my money back without even an enquiry looking at what happened Fraud could be so easy, wich dosent give me much confidence in the banks I can tell you!
It really is criminal what they do to people.
P.S I'm all for animal welfare but there's a certain "Black Horse" I have on my list to-do and make into dog food

I have had a similar notification today from Capital One, and CP has also from her M&S store card. They are all doing it. Presumably to help pay their bonuses for Christmas.

Lady Sparhawk & I have 2 joint accounts with Halifax I could save money for them - don't send one envelope to each person for each account, they must have used a whole rain forest to do this...

Getting abit pee'd off with Richies Halifax account... I thought these new "Supa Dupa" save energy and recycle "Green" big companys are trying to premote a Save Paper Save Trees stint on the genral public.
I'd like to know why we are getting on an a daily basis on avarage 2 letters all full of carp and advert leaflets
Obviously we're not the only one's getting there cr*p through our door regular either. Just makes me so mad that if you owe them money for "Admin" costs (rather generated printouts!) it's all to pay there bloomin junk mail bill!
I would quite happily re cycle some of the STACK of junk mail we've had from them if there MD was placed in front of me in a bending over pose!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OVGvWGyh7wg&feature=related
If you watched the clip above YUP! There customers do get 10% extra.. in junk mail!
And the only thing there saving is on Bulk Buy from the paper manufacturers lol!

Ive been with nation wide years and can't fault TBH, exept when I asked for a debit card... just a debit card for christ sake to use online they said "No" not unless I applyied for a Credit card etc etc !!!
I don't want a bloomin credit card they where quite shocked as I was when I asked for simple access to my money via debit I was in abit of a mood when they said NO!
I guess it's the same with all Banks and Building Sociatys now I recon still my Grandad had the right idea and stash your cash under the bath!
Because you end up paying any intrest you do get back in "admin cost" what a crock!!!

I have a debit card for Nationwide. I have only had one recently, I have been shuffling accounts about, but I didn't have to apply for a credit card.
