In the area, it takes a while though to get through Barnstaple, hopefully it will improve when the new road is open

I've been here 8 weeks. Ali has been here about 6 years I think. Did you want the back way from Barnstaple to here? It cuts out Braunton which can be bad, but if you are Bideford, i am afraid you will still have to cross that river somewhere

I'm not sure about a short cut from Bideford to Barnstaple, but once your in Barnstaple, head for the hospital, carry on that road and then Ilfracombe and woolacombe are signposted from there. It's very easy, it's virtually straight on all the way.
I love it here. Wouldn't go back. I moved from Swindon, a wannabe City 
I'm missing my friends, but have also made a couple of new ones
