My soap (so far) has been a success. It didn't split. I managed to get it out of the mould relatively easily (ecover washing up liquid bottles). It made 12 chunky bars.

I used the basic recipe from the Soap Kitchen and added 1/4cup of oats and 1tbsp of honey at trace.

Here's it: ('scuse focus, I can't do digital cameras very well!)

Now I just have to wait another 4 weeks to try it!

I love the look of that Aqui - might have a go myself. I hadn't seen this post before - was off with a sick note!

Have you made the moisturisers yet?

Lottie - I made my second batch of cold cream at the weekend, we'd just finished the first. Mr Aqui loves it too! He's yet to use the soap, though.

I need to get ingredients to do a slightly lighter cream for use during the day - this one makes you too shiney!

I'm just doing plain moisturisers, though, as I have very sensitive skin on my face and I'm scared I might be allergic to essential oils there. (I once had an allergic reaction so bad it made my face bleed and I still have a scar! )

Must remember to buy the stuff today...

Where did you get the recipe from. I used the one on the Downsizer site but substituted a couple of things - and it is brilliant.

My daughter in law uses it on our baby grandson, it is so pure and gentle and worked much better than the cream she got from the doctor.

I would love to compare recipes though

So far all my recipes have come from the soap kitchen website. I shall have to look at the downsizer ones.

Just got back from looking - was it this one?

http://www.downsizer.net/Projects...home/Home_Made_Natural_Skin_Cream

It looks interesting as it only has oil and wax, not all these emulsifiers. (I'm just cheap!)
