Yes, down by the river, good, easily tilled soil, no rabbits (just pigeons ), very secure, and all for £18 a year!

Congratulations and no rabbits - lucky you
I have spent 6 hours on mine today.

I have given some of mine up - due to illness - so mine is only 250ft or so by 33ft - still big though.

Your sooooo lucky old lob with the allotment. I thought I'd solved my quest last week when I was handed a flyer for a new allotment site so I email and went to look......advertised as opening in June with 75-80 plots.
The rent is £100 per annum, its actually the far side of Porthleven so quite a journey and atm it is still a field, no plots marked off, there will be no water and as the owner is a landscape gardener he is prepared to quote you a rate to rotovate the plot for you.......
Some one has seen away to make themselves some very easy money.

Yes, I was offered one at the same price, with extras! Did have water, but it was also overrun with rabbits!
If they'd said come at night with lamp and air gun I might have considered it!

look forward to following your progress

Get the gate keys on Monday morning. Metcheck's not showing rain for Monday so I can start clearing!
Had a closer look today, globe artichokes, tasty strawberries, blackcurrants, gooseberries, rhubarb and other as yet unidendified stuff!
Bottle of vodka for the first family member to get stuck in as well!
Real motivation!

Its gorgeous and will be an absolute doddle to tidy up - what a lovely plot.

Got the keys at 8:30 am, and got stuck in!
There was a storm at midday which put a damper on things, but I got a nice bit done.

My fellow plotters have given me purple sprouting brocolli, courgettes, potatoes, and red onions!

What a difference already and your fellow plotters sound like nice people!
|
Libby

Quietly chuffed, my first seeds have germinated after nine days!
pak choi!

Wonderful, well done!

This is a pic of our rate free water supply, there are seven sets of steps and handrails down to the river provided by the local council cos they negotiated a strip of land for the pathway!

Smashing!
Our lottie has free water piped in to a trough which we extract it from with watering cans, and carry it 100yds to our plot.

Some up to date stuff from the plot.
Everything a bit late as it only two months, but some things are edible!
Leeks, already tried, awaiting visitors from the principality.
The new raised bed for growing stevia. I have one growing in the other bed to see how it Winters. Might turn the raised bed into a poly tunnel!
And finally, Sooty, the allotment’s cat! Gets a bit too well fed!
