There you are peeps - just what I was saying yesterday. You want info - there are brains here that have it or know where to get it.
(The brain in this case is on holiday - but his web page is not - got all things covered here you know!)
There is no other place like our special potting shed - unique is the word

I think I have a design for you off a 4 inch plastic drain/soil pipe.
Think of this one
A 8 inch lenght of pipe with a screw end cap, perforate the screw cap so the water will come out.
Get hold of a 4 inch drain clearing bung, all it realy is is a heavy bit of rubber held between 2 big washers.
Fill you pipe to the desired level put your bung on top then push it down with a rod of some kind.
I happen to have a very nice hydraulic press for the job
To get your finished brick/log out you just unscrew the end and push it out....
Let me know what you think

Very like the one I have here that I really must upload (but I only use little down pipe). Try cutting slots into the end of the pipe and press down one to a concrete floor. The brick won't be as compact and it'll take longer to dry but it's almost the same.
All photo's of new log designs gratefully recieved and credited.

Yeah, we used to do that too. Only problem is you can't use the ash on the garden then. Coal used to be 'black gold' in our house, you won't allowed to use much and you had to make it last.
