She is a wee beauty and very bold, she was snuffling at my hair. I love their soft noses and curly whiskers. The next foal due we are hoping is going to be spotted, it is due at the weekend so fingers crossed! We'll keep posting pics

Those eyelashes! Such a trusting wee face too. She has long ears - a sign of speed!

why are long ears a sign of speed?

Here they are, he is gorgeous and very like his mum when she was a foal, he is bigger than we expected him to be and is very bold. The other filly foal is doing well, she is a right bossy madam and if her mum wont stand still to let her drink then she runs in front of her and kicks her in the chest Neither of them have names yet....any suggestions??

His Mum is my favourite, not usually my type of horse but her personality is great. She points to where she wants to be scratched with her hoof or nose! I think the foal is going to be like her, he's already friendly as you can see, even let E stroke him.

I absolutely love that photo of him with E. It somehow captures all of the innocence and beauty of youth.
Deserves to be in a picture frame!

The filly deserves a posh name, being a chestnut mare
How about Delilah?
Splash for the colt?
Just 2 off the top of my head.
Haha, just realised Samson and Delilah

When my children were younger they loved watching a programme called "fourways farm" and the horse on it was just like Samson. Coupled with the pathetic look he has had, while ill and it emphasised it even more.

Nanny, his Mum is apaloosa quarter horse, his dad is that orphaned foal (Oliver) I helped rear a couple of years ago, remember we had behavioural problems with him, he's 3/4 thoroughbred.
Lot's of lovely name suggestions, thanks everyone and thanks for clearing up the mystery Alison!
