Jammin'

cor, I've been busy. Over the last three or four weeks I've made blackberry & apple jam, blackberry jelly and plum jam Very Happy Already eaten a jar of the blackberry & apple jam Shocked

Not sure that the plum jam has quite worked, its still hot and doesn't seem as if it will set, but it was catching in the pan, and I didn't want to burn it. So long as it still tastes lovely I don't really mind if it doesn't set firm.

I'm so out of jam jars Laughing

Be patient MC with your plums. Put them in a cold place, and in 6 to 9 months you will be delighted!

I made 6lbs of Hedgepick Jam on Sunday (combination of windfall apples - crab apples are lovely if you have some - sloes, blackberries and elderberries.) I have Damson and Apple jam partly prepared - e.g. Damsons cooked and ready to be sieved. I have lots of jars as I got given a pile last year, but need to get some replacement lids as some of the ones in situ need to be chucked.

Hope to go picking Crab Apples later today to make lots of jelly. A neighbour has asked me to have a stall again at her Dog Show later this month, so I need to make some stock!
