just looking around

well i had an hour to spare yesterday evening, and decided to really take stock of what i had sown this year.

i cant dig over a garden so everything is in pots, tubs or containers of some sort.....lol....OH would do it for me, but he is so busy doing fencing and other bits around the place, when he is not doing his ' real job ' it does not seem fair when i can container garden....

yesterday i had a lovely compliment from a visitor.......she said my back garden....with its mix of flowers and veg, looked like a cottage garden.......just the effect i wanted, but so nice to hear from someone else.

here are a few edible things i have about the place, most of which i have grown from seed

several large pots of potatoes
runners
french beans
peas
cabbages...savoy
lettuce..... red and green
radishes
tomatoes...gardners delight, tumbling toms, shirley F1, money maker.
nasturtiums
white and red currants
strawberries

and also in tubs

rowan tree
peach tree
acers x 3
roses, climbing, rambling, standard and mini
petunia
bizzy lizzie
marigolds
geraniums
fuschia
pansies
polys
cordylines
lonicera
laveteria white and pink

a few herbs....

borage
different mints, about 10 at the moment
oregana
chives
sage
thyme
parsley
chamomile
marjoram
dill
chillies
sweet peppers

and in the ground

wysteria
passion flower

next year i am hoping to grow a lot more veg in raised beds aswell.

I garden in pots too.  After the first year or two you can get some real suprises as to what comes up, with flowers in the veggie pots & veggies in the flower pots.  Some seeds seem to lay dormant in the compost for several years & as you mix it with fresh (which I do) I love it. Laughing

Sounds lovely Mogs, it would be nice to see photos.  Very Happy
