little egretJust opposite our allotment there's a large meadow with a small lake ordered by reeds. There are a pair of little egrets there. I spotted them last year and was certain that they were nesting but was'nt sure if they hatched any young. I came past this evening and one of them was roosting in a nearby tree.....oh for a decent camera and a huge zoom lens I think they are so beautiful

some over the banks at aldburgh aggy along with the avocets . they usually nest with a load of other pals in a clump of reeds or wetland they can nest in trees but u may be lucky and have one on your doorstep if they nest and lay eggs your gonna be seeing chicks that hatch 25 days or so after the first egg drops .the birds will make a racket when they meet each other and display like chinese folks bowing and the noise is a bit like a arrrrk arrk kinda yucky for a perty bird
