living room

what plants do you have growing in the living room or house?
Lizzie

Good question! I know they're there, but I'm not sure I can remember them all...

A peace lily
A shrimp plant
A tender fucshia of some description
A palm-type thingy
An 8' tall umbrella plant
Several cyclamens

um ... I think that's about it. We'd have more if we had more useable windowsills, but most of them are too narrow for a plant pot.

And you?

there isn't enough natural light in this house to have much but my aspidestra has survived the move as has my crown of thorns, my coffin wood tree, my kalanchoe "red lips" and some strange thing i have in the bathroom

oh and a couple of cacti that are mouldering away on the window ledge in the office that i ought to sort out and repot

don't think this is going to be a houseplant house somehow
Cabbagepatch

A peace lily, spider plant, christmas cactus, posh orchid in the bathroom, one or two others, unable at this moment on a Friday evening to give a name to.

Until I gave a home to the three delightful kittens two years ago the house was overflowing with lush beautiful plants. Then....they came along.....dug and chewed everything up.

Forgot the selection of nearly dead cacti on an upstairs windowsill which belong to no.1 sprout. he has kept them hanging on for several years. Clearly he has some gardener's genes which so far have been overlooked.

Little darling. Rolling Eyes

tyhe other problem i have with houseplants is the cats CP

dunlop eats them

always thought he had a mental problem

I just haven't got any, windowsills aren't big enough!
Cabbagepatch

I love houseplants, they can satisfy the gardening cravings when it is all rain, wind and swamp outside.

However, three cute darlings kittens destroyed most of the houseplants within a few weeks of their arrival. I like to think I saved then from being put to sleep by nasty people.

I do miss my houseplants. But Toffee has just jumped up onto my lap, full of joy and affection.

All a compromise methinks.

(If anyone wrecks my orchid there will be big trouble......!

I've got a dragon tree that's nearly as big as me and a cactus that looked pretty good when it was potted up, but is looking a bit worse for wear now.
